The coastal path from Bandol to Sanary-sur-Mer runs along the coast between pine forests and wild coves, and suits walkers of average level. MR Taxi drops you at the start in Bandol and picks you up in Sanary from Marseille, Aix or Toulon, at the guaranteed maximum price announced at booking.
Between Bandol and Sanary-sur-Mer, there are only 7 km as the crow flies, but along the coastal path it is an 8 km route by the water that has to be earned. Miniature calanques, sand coves hidden between rocks, fragrant pine forests running down to the sea and, in clear weather, a view reaching the Hyères islands to the east and Cap Sicié to the south.
Route and gradient
Departure from the port of Bandol, heading east. The path follows the GR 51 of the Var coast. Moderate gradient, accessible to walkers of average level. Allow time for walking and breaks. Walking shoes are recommended, the path is sometimes rocky.
The coves along the way
Several coves, developed or not, line the route, the Moutte calanque, and a few small unnamed beaches that only regulars know. These stops let you swim in remarkably clear water, far from the crowded tourist beaches of summer.
Arrival point: Sanary and the way back
The path ends at the port of Sanary. For the return, two options: the bus or MR Taxi for a comfortable return with no waiting.
MR Taxi Bandol can drop you at the start of the path in the morning and pick you up in Sanary at the end of your hike, available 24/7.
