Toulon — Saint-Tropez & Gulf: private taxi tour

This is the big tour of the maritime Var, ideally done outside summer weekends. We leave Toulon by the coast and follow the Maures corniche. First stop at Le Lavandou, whose twelve fine-sand beaches are reputed among the most beautiful in the Var. Swimming is possible, with coffee on a terrace facing the Golden Islands. Then on to Saint-Tropez, through the Maures vineyards. I drop you at the entrance to the village and leave you the time you need: Place des Lices with its market and its pétanque players, the harbour and its yachts, the citadel overlooking the town, the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church whose pink bell tower is the symbol of the village. Then Grimaud, five kilometres away. The medieval village rises above the plain, surrounded by vines and dominated by the ruins of its castle. The cobbled lanes, the Templars' house, the silence.
