Salon — Nostradamus & Castle: private taxi tour
About 2h05 · 2h
Salon-de-Provence is the town where Nostradamus spent the last twenty years of his life, and this tour pays tribute to him. We start with the Château de l'Empéri, one of the oldest fortresses in Provence, overlooking the town since the 8th century. The military museum it houses tells five centuries of the French army with its uniforms, weapons and flags. The view from the ramparts over the old town and the Crau plain is worth the visit on its own. Then we go to Nostradamus's house, in the very centre. The physician and astrologer wrote his Prophecies there in 1555, and the house has been turned into a museum with staged scenes, his astrology instruments and handwritten extracts. We finish with a stroll through the old town: the mossy fountain on Place Crousillat, narrow lanes, the Clock Tower of 1626, an atmosphere that has not changed much since the prophet's time. A quiet return to the starting point. Call +33 6 98 46 63 34.
