Saint-Maximin — Green Provence & Verdon: private taxi tour

This is my biggest inland tour, a real full day. We leave Saint-Maximin and reach Brignoles in half an hour: Place aux Aires, old lanes, the Pays brignolais museum in the former palace of the Counts. We continue to Cotignac, one of the most beautiful villages of the Var, with its tuff cliff pierced by troglodyte caves and its constantly flowing fountains. Then Aups, truffle capital: truffle market on Thursday mornings in winter, and several producers also sell their honey and their olive oil from the Aix-en-Provence PDO. Finally the Verdon gorges, at the end of the road. The Point Sublime lives up to its name: seven hundred metres of vertigo above the turquoise river that carved this cut into the limestone over millions of years. The silence is massive, and vultures glide along the cliffs. You can also drive along the Corniche Sublime, stopping at each viewpoint.
