Rognac — Étang de Berre & Blue Coast: private taxi tour

From Rognac, the Étang de Berre opens a few minutes away. We head first to Martigues, the Provençal Venice crossed by three canals linking the Mediterranean to the lagoon. The Île de Brescon, the historic heart, reveals the Miroir aux Oiseaux with its colourful boats and pastel houses, one of the most photographed sites in Provence. The Sainte-Madeleine church, a 17th-century Baroque gem, hides a painted ceiling and gilded altarpieces behind a sober façade. I leave you time to walk and have a coffee facing a canal. Then we continue along the corniche to Carry-le-Rouet. The little harbour lined with Belle Époque villas has kept its charm, and its marine reserve created in 1983 protects one of the best-preserved coastlines of PACA.
