Rognac — Aix-en-Provence & Luberon: private taxi tour
About 6h10 · Full day
A fine day combining art and hilltop villages. We leave Rognac and reach Aix-en-Provence in a little under half an hour. I drop you on the Cours Mirabeau, the avenue of plane trees lined with fountains and 17th and 18th-century mansions. The Café des Deux Garçons, the hot fountain flowing at thirty-four degrees winter and summer, the Mazarin district: Aix is best discovered on foot. I leave you the time you need. In the afternoon, we head to the Luberon. First Lourmarin, listed among the most beautiful villages of France. Camus spent his last summers in a house you can glimpse from the street, and he is buried in the village's little cemetery. Then we climb to Gordes. The village clings to its cliff like an eagle's nest, and from the viewpoint on the departmental road the view is the one photographed a thousand times: dry-stone houses piled up, pink tile roofs, cypress sentinels. Back to Rognac through the valley, in the evening light. Book on +33 6 98 46 63 34.
