Martigues — Côte Bleue: private taxi tour
About 3h10 · Half day
The Côte Bleue remains one of the best-preserved coastlines of PACA, protected since 1983 by one of the first marine reserves in France. We leave Martigues and follow the sea along the corniche. First stop at Carry-le-Rouet. The little harbour lined with Belle Époque villas has kept its soul, and its famous sea urchin festival in February attracts food lovers from all over the south. We continue to Sausset-les-Pins, a family resort whose seafront lined with umbrella pines is classed as a remarkable landscape. Children play on the little beach, old Marseillais come for a pastis, the atmosphere is gentle. Finally La Couronne, the last village before Martigues, known for its wild coves with translucent water and for its Vesse harbour from where coral fishermen once sailed. The Customs Officers' path, which runs along the cliff, offers one of the finest walks in the region, and from several points you can see Marseille at the far end of the bay. Back to Martigues along the corniche. Book on +33 6 98 46 63 34.
