Gémenos — Calanques & Cassis: private taxi tour

From Gémenos, the Calanques are within reach. We leave early, before the shuttles flood in, and go straight to the Sormiou viewpoint. The little road climbs between Aleppo pines, the white rock surfaces everywhere, and suddenly the calanque opens below: emerald water, fishermen's cabins clinging to the foot of the cliff, a few early swimmers. We stay as long as needed for the photo, the silence and the smell of warmed resin. Then we reach Cassis along the heights. The village alone is worth the trip: the little harbour lined with ochre houses, the fishing boats, the fishmongers preparing the fried fish. I let you stroll and have a drink on a terrace. To finish, we go up the Route des Crêtes to the summit of Cap Canaille: four hundred metres of red cliff plunging straight into the sea, one of the finest viewpoints on the Mediterranean.
