Carry-le-Rouet — Marseille & Calanques: private taxi tour
About 6h · Full day
A big day that puts the Calanques within reach of Carry. We head first to L'Estaque, a working-class village in the north of Marseille where Cézanne, Braque and Dufy came to paint at the end of the 19th century. A small harbour, panisse sold fresh from the oven, a direct view over the bay. Then we reach the Old Port, the lively cafés of the Quai des Belges, the morning fish auction. In the afternoon, we take the road to the Sormiou calanque. The little road winds between Aleppo pines, the white rock breaks through, and at the end the calanque opens below: turquoise water, fishermen's cabins, dazzling limestone. I leave you a few minutes of silence. We finish in Cassis. The little harbour ringed by ochre houses, the fishing boats, the red cliff of Cap Canaille, the cafés facing the water. Back to Carry along the Marseille corniche and the motorway, with the evening light on the coves of the Côte Bleue. Call +33 6 98 46 63 34.
