Carry-le-Rouet — Blue Coast & Calanques: private taxi tour

The Côte Bleue remains one of the best-preserved coastlines of PACA, protected since 1983 by one of the first marine reserves in France. From Carry, we follow the sea along the corniche to the west. First stop at Sausset-les-Pins, a family resort whose seafront lined with umbrella pines is classed as a remarkable landscape. Children play on the little beach, old Marseillais come for a pastis, the atmosphere is gentle and popular. Then La Couronne, the last village before Martigues, known for its wild coves with translucent water and its Customs Officers' path along the cliff. It is one of the finest walks in the region, and from several points you can see Marseille at the far end of the bay, with the Frioul islands and Cap Canaille in the distance.
