Bandol — Marseille & Calanques: private taxi tour

This is a big tour that takes almost the whole day but shows maritime Provence at its most intense. We leave Bandol by the coast and reach Cassis in a little over an hour. I like to stop first at the harbour: the fishing boats, the Cap Canaille cliff crushing the village with its red shadow, the restaurants already preparing the bouillabaisse. Then we climb towards the viewpoint of the Sormiou calanque. The road is narrow and winding, reserved for residents in summer but accessible by taxi. At the end, the calanque is revealed: turquoise water, fishermen's cabins, white rocks. We stay as long as you like. Then we go back to Marseille along the corniche. The Old Port with its lively cafés, the climb to Notre-Dame de la Garde from where you take in the whole bay, from Frioul to the Calanques.
