Since 1995, the Fiesta des Suds has been one of the most anticipated events of the Marseille autumn. This music festival embodies the diversity and cultural mixing that Marseille carries like no other city in France. The 35th edition runs from Wednesday 8 to Saturday 11 October 2026 on the Esplanade Gisèle Halimi (J4), at the foot of the Mucem, with a line-up bringing together Véronique Sanson, Kassav', Stephan Eicher, Selah Sue, Deluxe, Groundation and around thirty other artists from four continents. Here are the four evenings in detail.
Thursday 8 October, the great chanson française night
The opening evening sets the bar high on the francophone song front, with two major figures and a solid discovery programme.
- Véronique Sanson, the icon of French chanson, topping the bill. This is the night that will sell out first.
- Imany, the deep, soulful Franco-Comorian voice who toured the world with You Will Never Know.
- Habibisly, Ão, Sharouh and Kena Womo round out the evening on the discovery side.
Friday 9 October, the great international evening
The busiest night of the edition, with eight artists spanning the geographic arc typical of the Fiesta: Switzerland, France, the Caribbean, Occitania, Catalonia, Colombia.
- Stephan Eicher, the legendary Swiss-francophone rock-folk artist.
- Bertrand Belin, the baritone-voiced singer-songwriter, one of the most distinctive writers in contemporary French independent rock.
- Mélissa Laveaux, Franco-Canadian artist of Haitian origin, reinventing Creole folk and soul.
- Cocanha, Occitan female trio, polyphonic songs and drums.
- Tarta Relena, Catalan female duo, crossing Mediterranean sacred music with contemporary electronics.
- Ghetto Kumbé, explosive Colombian trio, fusing afro-cumbia and percussion. An absolute must-see.
- Sidiaz and Shahzen, the discoveries of the evening.
Saturday 10 October, the festive closing night
- Deluxe, the six from Aix-en-Provence, ambassadors of a joyful and theatrical electro-hip-hop. Always a top-tier live show.
- Selah Sue and the Gallands, the Belgian soul and reggae singer, in an expanded live format.
- BCUC (Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness), the South African collective that turns every concert into a collective ceremony: Afro trance, percussion, gospel vocals.
- Luiza, Bold Zoon, Kara, Danitsa and Doucesoeur.
Sunday 11 October, Caribbean night
- Kassav', the legendary zouk group from the French Antilles, headlining this closing night.
- Groundation, the Californian reggae roots and jazz band.
- Blaiz Fayah, Joe Yorke, Bamby, Alo Wala, Maraboutage and Baby Volcano.
The J4 esplanade, open air by the sea
In recent editions, the Fiesta des Suds has moved from its historical Dock des Suds venue to the Esplanade Gisèle Halimi (J4), at the foot of the Mucem and facing the Vieux-Port. The main stage is outdoors, with the Mediterranean as a backdrop. The festival village features food stalls and bars, in an open festival atmosphere.

- Access: tram T2 (Euroméditerranée / Joliette) or metro line 2 (Joliette), then a 5-minute walk. Note: concerts often end after midnight, and public transport no longer runs at that hour.
Getting here from across the PACA region
The J4 esplanade is easily reached by car via the A55 (Marseille city centre / Joliette exit). MR Taxi handles transfers to the festival from Aix-en-Provence, Aubagne, Cassis, La Ciotat, Salon-de-Provence, Avignon or Marseille Provence airport.
Late nights: plan your return home
Traffic and parking information is communicated by the organisers and the town hall before the event: check it before you set off.
