Sous les étoiles du Parc Longchamp, entre les jets d’eau illuminés et les grandes pelouses où le public s’installe avec son plaid, le Festival Jazz des Cinq Continents tient depuis 1998 une promesse simple et rare : amener à Marseille les plus grands noms du jazz mondial, dans un cadre qui n’existe nulle part ailleurs. Un cadre unique en France
Le Parc Longchamp n’est pas une salle de concert. C’est un jardin historique avec son palais, ses fontaines et ses allées centenaires. Le soir du festival, tout ça disparaît pour laisser place à une scène ouverte, à la nuit chaude, et à une musique qui prend une autre dimension à l’air libre. Les habitués connaissent : on arrive tôt, on pose sa couverture, on déballe le pique-nique, et on attend que la nuit tombe pour que la magie commence.
Une programmation internationale
Chaque soir, deux ou trois artistes se succèdent sur scène — une tête d’affiche internationale et une découverte. Les éditions précédentes ont vu passer Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ibrahim Maalouf, Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock. A setting unique in France
Parc Longchamp is not a concert hall. It is a historic garden with its palace, fountains and century-old avenues. On festival evenings, all of that gives way to an open stage, a warm night, and music that takes on another dimension in the open air. Regulars know: arrive early, lay out your blanket, unpack the picnic, and wait for nightfall when the magic begins.
The 2026 programme
The full 2026 programme will be announced in the spring. Past editions have welcomed Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Chick Corea, Ibrahim Maalouf, Melody Gardot and many others. The festival is both accessible — with reasonable ticket prices and some free outdoor events — and demanding in its artistic choices. A genuine cultural event, not a commercial showcase.
Getting to Parc Longchamp
The park is in the 4th arrondissement, accessible by metro (line 1, Cinq Avenues – Longchamp). For those arriving from outside Marseille or preferring door-to-door service, MR Taxi drops you at the park entrance and picks you up after the concert. Practical for evenings that finish late.
